When Rolling Stone magazine names you one of their Top 26 Best Bands on Myspace, you know those years of sneaking around behind your parent backs to go play your little gigs were akk wirth it. Such is the humble beginning of Couple, a band that has caught the hearts and attention of some of the biggest wigs in the international independent music arena.The four-piece, tapping into the whole new media online market, released their 2006 album. Top of the pop, on Myspace. They hit it big, gaining a reputation that bordered on stardom - Well,as far as net- based Malaysian independent bands go anyway. They attracted interest from Indonesia, US and Japan, And Even Scored some massive foreign deals with distribution possobilities in US, Indonesia and UK.

Couple were invited to perform in the US in 2006, with a follow-up 22-date West Coast US and Canada tour in early 2007 but were unable to make it due to financial reasons. Top of the pop marks Couple's first official professional and 'polished' release, making the band regard it as their debut album.Their previous records were all recorded in lo-fi sound, which the band saw as too restricting.

Their track, Now That I can see, was chosen by Los Angelaes-based female fashion label, Bitch Kitty in late 2006, to be part of label's promotional campaign. It seems their infectious brand of sugary-sweet power-pop indie rock, which Amplifier magazine in the Us calls "terrifically tuneful and wondefully endearing",continues to catch on, and theircharismatic on-stage presence makes them a band thhat does not only has the musical talent to go far but the personality to do it in style.

One of the few true blue power pop bands in the region, Couple has been plying its trade for years now, dedicating itself to remind people of the virtues and magic of the song, and the power of the pop!! Taking cues from bands like the Beatles, The Beach Boys, Big Star The Who, The Raspberries, The Beat, The Rooks Enuff Znuff and Weezer, Couple has kept on doing what they do best and hope to put a smile (and hopefully and headbang or toe-tap or two) on all youse guys' faces. But, making you wety your pants will make us equality happy too.

Relying solely, and foolishly, on the dodgy songcraft of our dodgy and lame frontman, aidil, couple has continued to defy the odds as none of us can play our instument competently to save our live, hoping to inspire similary incomplete kids to just form their own band and stick it to the man!! Our live shows are textbook examples of the truimph of substance over style, if you call professional musicianship 'style', that is . Sloppy and load, with more than a touch of toilet humor in our lame crowd banter (if we're up for it!!), our live shows will never fail to make you wet your pants with luaghter and icky stuff. Yes, we're THAT good and THAT bad!!
